This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Ohjucksan and compare the effects of Ohjucksan in three types. The solid extract of Ohjucksan is each type was administered to experiement animals and determined to be analygesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, diuretie effect, decreasing effect on blood viscosity, controlling effect on spontaneous movement of uterus and curative effect on liver damage.
The results were as follows :
1. Both the solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of individual soid extract of Ohjucksan showed significant analygesis effect compared with control group. And the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurance medicine showed partially significant analysis effect.
2. The solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan showed significant antipyretic effect compared with control group. But the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurance medicine showed no anti-inflammatory effect.
3. The solid extract of Ohjucksan showed excellent anti-inflammatory effect, and the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan showed significant anti-inflammatory effect compared with control group. But the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjcksan intended for insurance medicine showed no anti-inflammatory effect.
4. The solid extract of Ohjucksan, the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of indivdual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurance medicine all showed significantly increasing effect in urnauy electrolyte(K+, Na+, C1-), compared with control group. In urinary volume, the solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan showed significantly increasing effect,
5. The solid extract of Ohjucksan, the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurance medicine all showed significant decreasing effect on blood viscosity, compared with control group.
6. The solid extract of Ohjucksan, the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurnace medicine all showed controlling effect on spon-taneous movement of uterus. Expecially the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurance showed controlling effect on diestrus uterus only in high concentration, 10-2 g/ml.
7. The solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan showed partially curative effect on liver damage, compared with control group, but the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurance medicine showed no curative effect on liver damage.
According to the above results, Ohjucksan showed´ analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic effect, decreasing effect for blood viscosity, controlling effect on spontaneous movement of uterus and carative effect on liver damage. And speaking of three types of Ohjucksan, the solid extract of Ohjucksan and the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan had no evident differences in their effects, while the mixture of individual solid extract of Ohjucksan intended for insurance medicine had a tendency to be less effective
